This handsome  car shows a little over 27,000. miles.  It is hard to find a classic car that is so complete, or so original.

 

The color is a deep midnight blue with a dark neutral broadcloth interior.  There is a heater in the front and the radio is not hooked up- the radio box is sitting in the trunk.  As far as we can tell from oil change stickers, it was last used in the late 50's.  It is running great now except for some lifter noise.  It does not burn oil, the oil pressure is good and runs great with surprisingly brisk snappy acceleration for a car weighing approximately 5,840 pounds.  This vehicle was recently mechanically recommissioned and has been driven 50 miles. The wood is solid and doors shut like a bank vault door.

 

The original exterior and interior Judkins tags are intact.  Body number 12925, chassis number K-9522.  Archive research with Dale Wells, CCCA Museum, show that this order for this custom design was rec'd 9/26/38 and shipped 12/22/38-titled as a 1939-a very nice Christmas $6,000. present for someone special.  Beverly Kimes Standard Catalog book show this 4-dr Judkins Berline 3w-5p to be the only one made in this body style, one of 5 total Lincoln K's bodied by Judkins in 1939.

 

There is a glass wind up division between the front and rear compartments. The jump seat compartments have locks for storage only-no seats-perfect for  briefcases.  All of the windows in the rear, even above the doors have silk pull shades cleverly hidden by a valance. There is large wooden box in the upper trunk compartment.  There are also two chromed pieces that could be mounted to the bumper for suitcase and trunks.  The rear clock is missing.

 

From a design point of view the car is striking.  The "V" design of the radiator and headlamps is carried from the Greyhound mascot base through to the back of the hood, vent , windshield and brow of the body.  The art deco style chrome vents on the hood sides are accented by the the stainless strips on the running boards.

The car was in excellent storage for over 50 years, and since its rescue the following things have been done to the car. It is now ready for the Preservation Class at a Concour near you or for touring and enjoyment.

New correct tail pipe and muffler, Radiator boiled cleaned /pressure tested, Resurfaced/ polished heads, new head nuts and washers, new head gaskets/ plugs, hone cylinders, valve job, new oil pan gaskets, rebuild oil pump, rebuild fuel pump, rebuild carb, clean out oil lines, 2 new coils, rebuild choke cables, new hoses/clamps, rebuild water pump and pipes, new plug wires, rebuild brake servo/adjust brakes, replace speedo cable, replace brake booster, grease and change all fluids, rebuild generator/cut off, rebuild two door latches, new optima battery, clean/coat gas tank.
